Tools Required:

Safety Glasses, Heavy Gloves, Solid Work Surface or Vise, 3/32” Diameter Punch (supplied), Hammer, Flat Blade Screw Driver, 1/16” Allen Wrench, 1/8″ Allen Wrench, ¼” Socket Driver or Wrench.

Please Note: A propane (plumbers) torch or MAPP gas torch may be required to remove existing pins from the rear sight block if they are soldered in place. The application of heat, if done properly, will not cause damage. Keep in mind that you only need to reach the melting point of the solder and that this same temperature was achieved during original construction without adverse effects. Procedure provided in supplied instructions.

READ BEFORE ORDERING

FITMENT NOTES:

The pin holes for the rear sight block are often located inconsistently as a result of the original manufacturing process. The two holes are frequently not parallel to each other and may be out of alignment or skewed. The mount can only accomodate so much of this misalignment. You should measure the center distances from pin to pin on both sides to ensure that the mount will fit properly. The front to back distance between the pin centers that the mount will accommodate must fall within 1.63″(41.5mm) to 1.83″(46.5mm). The up and down distance between the pin centers that the mount will accomdate is 1/32″(.79mm).

The pin holes for the rear sight block are generally .118″(3.00mm). The supplied #4-40 screws have a nominal O.D. of .112″(2.84mm). The use of an appropriate permanent liquid thread locker for the screws and nuts, as well as proper tightening of the same should result in no movement of the mount during normal firing. Remember to allow the liquid thread locker to cure properly. Permanent liquid thread locker can usually be broken with the application of some heat should the mount need to be removed.

The mount is designed to fit over a rear sight block that measures between .750″(19.05mm) and .787″(20.00mm) wide. This mount will NOT necessarily work for an M44!
