Our Mosin Nagant mount allows you to remove the rear leaf sight and install our base without the need to unsolder anything. It is one of the most stable bases on the market and uses the rear sight housing so there are no major modifications to your rifle like with some other brands.
Installation:
Remove rear leaf sight from the housing
Keep the original pin as you will need this to install our base
Insert the tabbed side of our steel base in to the rear of the rear sight
Check for fitment on the front of the steel base
The corners and front may need to be filed down to achieve the optimal fit
Once the base sits completely in the rear housing insert the retaining pin from the original sight
Adjust the set screw to take up any play in the rail
Screw the top aluminum mount to the steel base
This mount can be put on in either direction
Picatinny cross slots run the full length of the rail, which gives the shooter flexibility when mounting scope rings and other accessories. The cross slots are also machined the full width of the mount and gauged to MIL-STD 1913 specs maintaining tolerances of +/-.002".
After machining; the mounts are tumbled and sand blasted. The aluminum mounts are Type III hard coat anodized for long lasting durability. The steel base is blued.
Compatible with Picatinny or Weaver scope rings. Add EGW’s HD Scope Rings to make it a complete package!
