Choate Mini-14 / Mini 30 Ventilated Handguard

Light weight stays where it needs to it looks even better with the matching stock I’ve enjoyed their products since I was a young man on rifles and shotguns and will continue to use them in the future

I bought this hand guard at the same time I purchased the Strikeforce stock. To be honest, I really like the hand guard that came with the stock. It matches the contour of the factory original. For what I plan to do with my rifle, this hand guard should be fine. However, in rapid fire mode, I can most definitely see where the Choate hand guard would offer greater protection for the shooter's hand. It has more than enough vents to dissipate heat.

Spent a few minutes with a Dremel to trim down the front tab to get a proper fit. Definitely improved the looks over the factory piece.

Good product, depending on the stock you have there may be some fitting involved. I HAD THIS ON THE FACTORY SINTHETIC STOCK AND IT NEEDED SOME FILING OF THE FRONTATTHE BOTTOM. i THEN PUT AN ARCHANGLR STOCK ON THE GUN AND IT NEEDE SOME ADDITIONAL WORK TO FIT PROPERLY. I NEEDED TO PUT IT ON A BENCH SANDER AND TAKE OFF ABOUT 1/6" AND HAD THE FILE DOWN THE FRONT LUG THAT GOES TO THE GAS BLOCK. BUT IT LOOKS GRAET AND FUCTIONS WELL AFTER THE MODIFICATIONS.
