INSTRUCTION SHEET FOR THE #1 MARK lll #MK70
Push the pin out at the rear of the rear flip up sight.
Remove the flip up sight & the spring by sliding it forward and lifting it
out. Use the 6-40 bottom tap supplied with this mount & tap the existing
threaded hole in the receiver to maximum depth. If you don’t have some
experience with tapping holes we recommend you have a gunsmith or machinist tap
the hole for you as the tap is almost impossible to get out when broken.
The hole must be tapped straight & to maximum depth. Place the mount into
the rear sight area & align the 6-32 tapped holes in the mount up with the
holes in the side of the receiver where the pin was removed. It is very
important that these holes line up to keep from damaging the threads when the
screws are installed. Put in the (2) 6-32 x ? socket head screws. Do not
tighten!!!
Put the 6-40 x 5/16 fillister head screw through the mount
and into the tapped hole in the receiver. Lightly tighten the (2) 6-32 socket
head screws. They DO NOT need to be real tight. Put the 10-32 x ? set screw
down through the tapped hole in the top of the mount and tighten against the
receiver. The purpose of this set screw is to keep pressure on the 6-32 socket
head screws so they can’t back out & keep down pressure on the rear of the
mount.
