All S&K rings are fully machined out of solid steel bar stock, tumble finished to remove all burrs, and have a 3/8 Inch diameter stud that locks into a 3/8 Inch hole or slot in the base which provides windage adjustment. The rings are locked into position by tightening cooperative cone pointed set screws. The rings are precision bored to 1 Inch diameter and, being machined rather than extruded or stamped, form a precision fit that will not slip under recoil. They are nicely contoured and trim in appearance. S&K rings are tumble finished and blued to achieve a military-type dull or nonglare black finish that matches the black anodized Insta Mount bases.

Remove the rear sight from the rifle. Keep the S&K mount
centered over the rear sight area & at the same time slide the bottom foot
of the mount into the undercut at the rear while pushing down on the front. You
may need to tap the mount lightly back into the undercut. The two tapped side
holes in the mount need to line up with the holes in the receiver where the pin
was removed. It is very important that these holes line up to keep from
damaging the threads when the screws are installed. Install the two 6-32 screws
through the holes where the pin was removed & into the S&K mount. LIGHTLY
TIGHTEN THESE TWO SCREWS & DO NOT RETIGHTEN. Center the mount at the
rear & install the 10-32 x ½” sets screws into the top of the mount &
tighten. You can adjust windage some by
loosening the 10-32 set screws & moving the rear of the mount sideways
& retighten. WHEN REMOVING THE MOUNT DO NOT TRY TO REMOVE THE TWO 6-32
SCREWS UNTIL LOOSENING THE SET SCREWS ON TOP OF THE MOUNT.
