-BOTH rings bear against front of their respective receptacles (both absorb recoil shock)
-Trim in appearance, light in weight
-Precision bored – scope will not slip
-No knobs, bolts or other obtrusions to break or bend
-Fits any 1 inch scope tube
All S&K rings are fully machined out of solid steel bar stock, tumble finished to remove all burrs, and have a 3/8 Inch diameter stud that locks into a 3/8 Inch hole or slot in the base which provides windage adjustment. The rings are locked into position by tightening cooperative cone pointed set screws. The rings are precision bored to 1 Inch diameter and, being machined rather than extruded or stamped, form a precision fit that will not slip under recoil. They are nicely contoured and trim in appearance. S&K rings are tumble finished and blued to achieve a military-type dull or nonglare black finish that matches the black anodized Insta Mount bases.
#CH65 INSTRUCTION SHEET FOR THE CHILEAN 1935 & BRAZILIAN 1908 MAUSER, BRUNO AND STYER
Instructions for the CHILEAN AND BRAZILIAN MAUSER
Remove the rear sight from the gun by pushing the hinge pin out & then remove the flip up sight & spring. Slide the 10-32 special nut supplied with the mount into the slot where the spring was. It will slide under the ledge where the spring was. Slide the special nut flat side first all the way to the rear of the slot. Center the mount over the rear sight with the two 6-32 screw holes in the side toward the front of the gun. Lower the mount onto the rear sight area. Line the 6-32 tapped holes in the mount up with the holes in the side of the receiver. It is very important that these holes line up to keep from damaging the threads when the screws are installed. Install the two 6-32 x 5/16th socket head screws in these two holes. Snug them down but do not tighten. Insert the 10-32 x ¾ flat head screw into the mount & lightly tighten. Insert the 10-32 x ½ set screw into the top hole at the front of the mount & tighten. Re-tighten the flat head screw. You do not need the other 10-32 x 3/8 set screw for this mount.
Instructions for the BRAZILIAN 1908 MAUSER
Remove the rear sight from the gun by pushing the hinge pin out & then remove the flip up sight & spring. Slide the 10-32 special nut supplied with the mount into the slot where the spring was. It will slide under the ledge where the spring was. Slide the special nut flat side first all the way to the rear of the slot. Install the (2) 10-32 set screws into the mount from the top (stop them when they are flush with the bottom). The 10-32 x ½ set screw goes in the front & the 10-32 x 3/8 set screw in the rear. The 10-32 x 3/8 set screw that threads into the hole where the ring goes needs to protrude from the bottom .053 or 1 ¾ turns of the thread. To get the set screw flush with the bottom of the mount hold something that is flat up against the bottom of the mount where the set screw will protrude. Tighten the screw with an allen wrench until you can feel pressure on the flat plate you are holding against the screw hole. Now hold the mount in your left hand with the top up & insert the long end of an allen wrench into the set screw being careful not to rotate the screw. Rotate the mount until the short end of the allen wrench is at the12:00 position. Turn the allen wrench 1 ¾ turns. You will only need to adjust this screw if the rear of the scope is low or high & you will have to remove the scope to do this. If you are shooting low you will need to turn clockwise – high counter-clockwise. If you have to adjust this screw - move in very small increments. One revolution will move you 32 inches at 100 yards. Insert the 10-32 x ¾ flat head screw into the mount & tighten. Tighten the front 10-32 x ½ set screw. Retighten the flat head screw. Boresight & do your final adjustments with the turrets. Do not move the 6-32 screws unless the 10-32 flat head screw & the 10-32 x ½ set screw are loose as you will damage them.
