#JAP70 - INSTRUCTION SHEET FOR JAPANESE ARASAKA

Remove the rear sight by pushing the hinge pin out & then remove the sight & spring. The spring is removed by tapping it toward the barrel end. You will have to first remove the wood cover. Slide the special nut into the slot the spring was removed from. The nut is tapered so insert the small side of the nut from the barrel end of the slot. Place the mount into the rear sight area aligning the two 4-40 screw holes where the hinge pin was removed. Insert the two 4-40 x 3/8 socket head screws into the mount & tighten lightly. Insert the 10-32 x 3/8 flat head screw into the mount & tighten. Insert the 10-32 x 3/8 set screw into the mount & tighten.

An extremely well thought out mount for my Arisaka 99. Removing the rear sight and spring was easy. This mount did not alter the original sight mount area in any way and the original can be reinstalled easily. There are two screws that are installed after the pivot pin. The instructions gave no clue as to how to properly tighten them. It only says tighten them so a little trial and error was involved there. Otherwise, a very good and solid mount. Perfect for this application. Shipping was quick too.

Amateur

Arisaka Izwz last ditch overhaul. Pressed off the peep sight, pressed on a T-38 base. Had to widen width between the bases ears about .015 with a file. Installed the SK base and added the Hi-Lux scope. Laser sighted at 25 yrds. Almost dead-on! Great!

Thrilled

I`m absolutely thrilled someone came up with a mount that worked and did not deface the firearm . I haven`t installed mine yet but seems to be of good quality. Good install instructions , I know I`m going to be happy with it and also Long eye relief scopes are very easy to get into so It should preform well. Best part is when I`m done playing with it I can return the rifle back to it`s former glory without a hitch.

The perfect fit

I have three Arisakas and I will be buying another one of these rails five minute install works great exactly what I needed I would recommend this for any type 99 thanks again guys
